The Place of Women in Indian Society
Introduction-«woman occupies an important part; in our life. She is an equal partner of man. The hands that rock the cradle rule the world. She is one of the two wheels. There is no question of inferiority or superiority between men and women.
Women in Ancient India-In ancient India the position of Indian women was high. They enjoyed all the rights and privileges. I still remember Savitri, Gargi, Damayanti and others .foreknowledge and character. I supposed the Gods to live in the place where women were worshipped.
The position of Women in Middle Age-When the Muslims conquered2 India the condition of women became bad. Women suffered much on account of Purdah System and early marriage. Doors of education were closed for them. They were I considered them inferior to men. They had to work from morning till night. Place of Women in Modern Society-in modern India their position has changed. Indian Constitution makes no. difference between men and women. They are enjoying equal rights with men. At certain places, they have proved better than men. Women of today are professors, doctors, magistrates, telephone operators and police officers.
Women who shape the personality of children. I should give them all the opportunities to develop their own personality. Man and woman are the two pillars of the society which should be protected. The salvation of mankind lies in’ cooperation between man and woman not in competition. They are the builders of the nation.
It limits only conclusion female progress to the cities. There is almost no effect of their progress in the villages. Now there is the need for such progress even in the villages India 1s a land of villages The progress of the country depends on the progress of the Villages. I should improve the condition of the women of the villages.
